We at SimplySmart want parents to be informed and involved in their child’s progress and activities on a regular basis and hence have different methods of communication on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Daily progress is shared with parents by the teachers in all classrooms via an App that the parents have access to. We have whiteboards in each classroom with updates on activities done each day in your child’s classroom. We have at least 2 parent teacher interviews every year to keep parents informed of their child’s progress in the classroom. Parents will get detailed classroom schedules, menus and routines via our communication App. Parents are also welcome to talk to their child’s teacher on any questions they may have on a regular basis.

All fees are charged in advance bi-weekly via direct deposit. Parents are required to fill out the PAD registration form at the time of registration. There is a registration fee of $100 for the first child and $75 for additional children registered. Registration fee is required to reserve your child a space in the centre. There is a deposit required equal to two weeks of fees payable with your registration fee. This deposit will be applicable to the last two weeks in case of withdrawal of your child from the centre.

With personalized routines and schedules just like home we work with the parents to help their babies adjust at SimplySmart in a warm and caring environment. We have a separate sleep room for babies and each child has a personal crib for naptime. A typical day for your baby will include lots of music, singing, rhymes, outdoor play, tummy time and smiles and hugs. Your baby will be exposed to different sights, sounds, textures and sensations to develop necessary skills and grow into a toddler.

We believe that kids need care & affection. In case a child exhibits inappropriate action (such as hitting, pushing, biting, spitting, kicking, etc.) the teacher will follow three steps. First the teacher will explain to the child that this type of behaviour is inappropriate. Second, the teacher will re-direct the child to a different play area within the room. Third, if aggressive or inappropriate behaviour continues, the child will sit away from the group with the teacher to calm down and think about his/her actions. After a short period of time, the teacher will have a discussion with the child with respect to his/her inappropriate action, and then the child will return to play.
The teachers use positive reinforcement to deter negative behaviour. You will find our behavior management policy in our Parent Handbook.

We provide the children with a fresh lunch and 2 snacks prepared on site by our chef. The menu has been developed with Canada food guidelines and is a balanced menu providing all the essential nutrients. Our menu is distributed to the parents via the App and also posted on the parent board at the Centre. We are a nut free facility and parents will need to identify any allergies at the time of registration.
